This page explains what information RECS collects, how it's used, and how it's stored. RECS is provided by an independent Australian studio ("we", "us").
We collect only what's needed to run the app:
Data is stored with Supabase, hosted in the Sydney region. Cover art and images are linked directly from third-party providers (such as TMDB, Open Library, MusicBrainz and IGDB) and are not stored on our servers.
Supabase stores your data and handles login. Resend sends the emails RECS needs to send, such as your sign up confirmation and password reset, so your email address is passed to it for that purpose only. Cloudflare hosts the app and this website. We use these services only to run RECS and not for advertising.
Your data is used solely to operate RECS: showing you the feed, your profile, and connecting you with people you follow. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising. We don't run ads in RECS at all.
Your recommendations are visible according to your account's privacy setting (public or private) and your category visibility settings. Where you originally got a recommendation from is kept private and is never shown on your profile.
We use TMDB, Open Library, MusicBrainz and IGDB to look up titles and artwork. We don't share your personal account data with these providers. They are used only to fetch public catalogue information.
You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account at any time. See our data deletion page for details. You must be at least 16 to use RECS.
We may update this policy from time to time. If anything material changes, we'll aim to let users know.
